Terms of Service

paraLLM (“paraLLM”, “we”, “us”) provides a companion browser extension and website that, with your explicit consent, introduces you to other people exploring a similar subject while you use a third-party AI assistant such as ChatGPT, Claude or Gemini (the “Service”).

By creating an account, installing the extension, or otherwise using the Service, you agree to these Terms of Service (the “Terms”) and to our Privacy Policy and Community Rules, which are incorporated by reference. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

If you use the Service on behalf of an organization, you represent that you are authorized to bind that organization, and “you” refers to that organization.

The Service places you into live, text-based conversations with strangers. You must be at least 18 years old (or the age of majority where you live, if higher) to use it. By using the Service you represent and warrant that you meet this requirement. We may suspend or terminate any account we reasonably believe belongs to a minor.

• paraLLM is a companion to third-party AI websites. It does not provide, control, or replace ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, or any other AI assistant, and it never alters or delays your requests to them.
• paraLLM is not a professional, medical, legal, financial, or crisis service. Conversations are with other members of the public, not with experts, and nothing said in a room is advice you should rely on.
• Matches and conversations are not guaranteed. Rooms are temporary and close automatically.

You may use the Service as an anonymous guest or with an email address. You are responsible for activity that occurs through your account and for keeping your device and any sign-in link secure. Notify us at legal@parallm.app if you believe your account has been compromised. You may not share, sell, or transfer your account, or create accounts through automated means.

Your use of the Service is subject to our Community Rules. In short, you agree not to:

• harass, threaten, defame, stalk, or abuse anyone;
• share sexual content involving minors, promote self-harm, or facilitate violence, exploitation, or other illegal activity;
• send spam, advertising, chain messages, malware, or phishing links;
• attempt to identify, track, or contact another person outside an active matched room, or solicit anyone’s personal, financial, or contact information;
• impersonate any person or entity, or misrepresent your affiliation with anyone;
• probe, scrape, overload, reverse-engineer, or circumvent any security, rate-limiting, or access control of the Service;
• use the Service in violation of any applicable law or third party’s rights.

We may remove content, end a room, and suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, in our reasonable discretion and, where practical, with notice.

“Your Content” means the messages you send and the prompts you choose to share. You retain ownership of Your Content. You grant us a limited, non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, process, transmit, and display Your Content solely to operate, secure, and improve the Service. This license ends when Your Content is deleted, except for copies retained transiently for backup, security, or as required by law.

You are solely responsible for Your Content and for anything that happens through your account. You represent that you have the rights necessary to share it and that it does not violate these Terms or any law.

Conversations are with other members of the public. We do not pre-screen conversations and we are not responsible for, and do not endorse, anything another person says or does. You interact with other people at your own risk. If someone violates these Terms, use the report and block tools, and contact local authorities if you believe you are in danger.

We provide reporting and blocking tools and apply automated safety measures, including rate limits and content filters. We may, but are not obligated to, review reports, remove content, restrict features, suspend accounts, and preserve or disclose information where we believe in good faith it is necessary to enforce these Terms, comply with law, or protect the safety of any person. Automated restrictions may be applied and lifted without individualized review.

The Service works alongside third-party websites and may rely on third-party providers (for example, hosting and, where configured, an embedding provider). Your use of ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, or any other third-party service is governed by that third party’s own terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for third-party services and do not control them.

The Service, including its software, design, and trademarks, is owned by paraLLM and its licensors and is protected by law. We grant you a personal, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the Service in accordance with these Terms. You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, or create derivative works from the Service except as expressly permitted.

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free, that matches will occur, that any person you meet is who they claim to be, or that conversations will be safe, accurate, or useful. You are responsible for your own safety and decisions.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, paraLLM and its officers, employees, and agents will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, data, goodwill, or other intangible losses, arising out of or relating to your use of, or inability to use, the Service. This includes anything said or done by another person you are matched with.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total aggregate liability for all claims relating to the Service will not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid us for the Service in the twelve months before the claim, or (b) one hundred Canadian dollars (CAD $100). Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so some of the above may not apply to you.

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless paraLLM and its officers, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, liabilities, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or related to Your Content, your use of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any law or third-party right.

You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time from your settings. We may suspend or terminate your access at any time, with or without notice, if you violate these Terms or if we discontinue the Service. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (including ownership, disclaimers, limitation of liability, indemnification, and dispute resolution) will survive.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario, Canada, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. Subject to applicable law, you and paraLLM agree that the courts located in the Province of Ontario, Canada will have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute that is not otherwise resolved, and you consent to their jurisdiction and venue. Nothing here deprives you of the protection of mandatory consumer laws of your place of residence.

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the “Last updated” date and, where appropriate, provide additional notice. Changes take effect when posted. Your continued use of the Service after changes become effective means you accept the updated Terms.
